Indisciplined Nazir irks Pakistan Board

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious note of opening batsman Imran Nazir’s disgruntled behaviour during a domestic Twenty20 match, and denied him a place in the national squad.

PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said Nazir would not be included in the team despite submitting a No-Objection-Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Cricket League (ICL) because of his indiscipline during the final of the National Twenty20 Cup.

Nazir was adjudged leg-before-wicket by umpire Nadeem Ghauri in the match. He reacted angrily to the decision by repeatedly hitting his bat on the ground.

DDA rejects BCCI request for stadium land

New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has rejected a request for allotment of land by the Indian cricket board (BCCI) to construct a modern stadium in the national capital.

The DDA has turned down the request of the BCCI for allotment of land near Okhla to construct a modern cricket stadium, saying the area needs a green cover instead of a stadium.

"We have rejected the BCCI request," Naseeb Singh, MLA and elected member of the DDA told PTI.
