GUWAHATI, Feb 18 – After second consecutive defeat in the east zone one-day cricket tournament for the Vizay Hazare Trophy, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has decided to drop the former Boroda and India batsman Jacob Martin from the team and replace him with Gokul Sharma.
In the first match on February 15 Tripura defeated Assam by 29 runs while in the second encounter Assam suffered humiliating eight-wicket defeat against host Bengal yesterday. In reply to Assam’s 269 Bengal scored 272 for two. Opener Sib Sankar Roy hit 111 for Assam.
The cricketing buffs of the State smell some foul play in selecting and managing the one-day team. Assam Tribune
